Love in Action

Ever look around and wonder why the world seems to be happier than you are? We observe how people spend their money and time and live a seemingly carefree lifestyle and we may think, 'Hey, I want that!'

But we sometimes forget that they don't have the same life goals, priorities, and missions as Christians do. They don't focus on dying to self and living for Christ

They have love for themselves and (maybe) for others. They may have outwardly full lives, but their hearts are most likely lacking.

We, on the other hand, have been filled with the forgiveness, grace, and sacrificial love of Christ. Our focus is Jesus, our goal is Heaven as we read in Hebrews 12:1-2;

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

We're not on the same path. We're not running the same race. Let's be joyful, patient, and faithful as we strive to win the race that others may not be running. --- Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12 | NIV
