The Lord is Good
Have you ever stopped and reflected on what you used to long for, pray about and look forward to?
Have you ever recognized that so often we “get to” those stages or times of life and without a second to soak it in and adjust, our eyes are already fixed on the “next”?
Taking the time these days to be thankful for where I am right now. A child of God with late twenties confidence from lived experience resilience, happily married to my best playmate and life partner, almost a decade into my career, living with immediate access to the wild and a baby on the way. Right here, right now—God is good and has brought me to and through so many longings of my heart. He’s not any more or less good if we buy a house, make more money, grow our family or grow our church ... He is good now, He has fulfilled so many promises to past Jordan that it is overwhelming to meditate on.
God is good—even now in the already and not yet. --- Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100 | ESV
