For years, I’ve been quietly trading my creative skills for all kinds of wonderful things—from fresh eggs to yoga classes. Now, I’m making it official: A Thousand Elsewhere is open for bartering!
What is Bartering?
Bartering is an ancient, simple and meaningful way to exchange goods or services without using money.
It is one of the oldest forms of trade—long before money, people exchanged skills, goods, and services to support each other. It’s about valuing what we each bring to the table and creating a fair, mutual exchange. I love that this tradition still has a place in our modern world, and I’m excited to make it a bigger part of A Thousand Elsewhere!
How it Works
- Reach Out – Have something to offer? Send me a message with what you’re looking for and what you’d like to trade.
- Proposal – We’ll figure out a fair exchange that works for both of us.
- Exchange – Once we agree, we make the swap—simple as that!

Ontwerpdienste
As jy dit kan glo, is ontwerp (spesifiek handelsmerk) my onbedoelde lewensbelangstelling sedert ek 13 jaar oud was. Ná hoërskool het ek 'n oorbruggingsjaar geniet van werk, reis, huissit en oppas. Ek het toe van Niagara, Ontario na Vancouver, Brits-Columbië vir universiteit verhuis, en in 2013 gegradueer met 'n Grafiese Ontwerp-diploma van VCAD . Na nog 'n paar reis het ek teruggekeer na Ontario, my man ontmoet en my pad by verskeie ontwerpateljees opgewerk terwyl ek vryskut en pro bono aan die kant gedoen het. Ek verhuis in 2021 terug na Brits-Columbië en woon saam met my man en dogter in Prince George.
Deesdae word my tyd spandeer as 'n deeltydse tuisbly-ma, deeltydse afgeleë ontwerper + handelsmerkstrateeg vir 'n ontwerpateljee in Burlington, Ontario en deeltydse Freelance Creative. Oor die jare het ek natuurlik gevorder om my vryskutdienste te kombineer met my Bybelverwante kreatief, 'n Duisend elders. Nou leef dit alles onder een ouer mede.

Oor die jare van vryskut en pro bono het ek saam met organisasies, kerke, nie-winsorganisasies en individue gewerk. Rollees af om net 'n paar van die nuutste ontwerpprojekte te sien waarvan ek bevoorreg was om deel te wees.
